NEWS FLASH! Thanks to Jason Jacoby for selling me a select set of Finewool ewes, we will have a limited number of CROSS lambs this spring for you to choose from!

About Us

The Cockburn flock started like many from a career of showing through 4-H and FFA.  Jamie's first lambs in 1996 were orphans from a local commercial producer, this grew to our small flock we have today.  Although we no longer have the original blood, the spirit of the beginnings still grows with the flock.  In 2005 we purchased a set of fifteen bred ewes from Brennemans, only two of which still reside in the flock.  With the relocation of the flock in 2007 from Wyoming to Texas, we knew we were in for a drastic change if we were to keep up with the trends.  With a couple ewe purchases from Vance Christy we felt like a significant ram purchase was needed.  We found our Caesar son "Cicero" through Jimmy Barton, and knew that the Caesar line was the way we wanted to take the ewe base.  With the purchase of some aged ewes and ewe lambs from Savage Club Lambs and the help of Cicero, we now have a base flock of Caesar daughters and grand-daughters.  With the purchase of "Reno" from Ed Hewlett and family and then acquiring "PIB", a McGolden raised ram, we felt that it was time to take an outcross and decided that there were no better place than Allred/Elliot's pens at Sedalia!  For 2011-2012 breeding we acquired two Allred/Elliot rams out of two very notable sires that will take our program to the next level in 2012!

Another notable change is the partnership forged with Corley Livestock of Bronte Texas.  Rusty and family have been raising sheep since Rusty showed in school and over the years they have taken their flock in the club lamb direction with most of the flock stemming back to Dynamite farms and Miller genetics.  We will be joining forces this coming fall and taking our flocks in the same direction with partnership purchases starting with the Allred/Elliot rams.  Keep an eye out this spring for the lambs out of these great sires from both flocks as we take a step forward in our program!

Thank you to our dedicated showmen and women and the families behind the lambs!  We appreciate you and your hard work and the friendships forged in this great adventure!

With much thanks!
